Synopsis

Fewer postings could be worse for Commissar Bastun Hasp than the Savlar Chem-Dogs, penal legion dregs that are far from the shining soldiers of the Imperium he had hoped to lead. He views them as no more than mongrels, their worthless lives only attaining value when being spent in the Emperor’s wars. Hasp is ordered to lead a kill team of these imperfect tools through enemy-infested territory to secure vital intelligence. The catch? It lies within a former Imperial bastion now fortified by the ork Waaagh! that sacked it. All the commissar and his Chem-Dogs have to do is survive the doomed counter-offensive… that is, if they don’t kill each other first.
